Any word on your auction plugin/customisation?

I know this has been on hold for some time but it is something I might still be interested in.

Still working on it :/

LSQL 2.2.0 brought us a lot closer ... but its still going to be a little while before a release is available I'm afraid Frown

I've got quite a few of the jobs out of the way now (still got some tidying up to do on HotelSQL, and CouponSQL .... and then its time to start working properly on the Auction version =)).

Cheers

Thanks Andy,

I suppose this is a good time to tell you what I would be looking for:

auction expiry dates- because my items for sale would have specific sell-by-dates.

reserve prices- or else we could lose money

listing fees- payment using PayPal or custom processor.

Hope this helps

Re: [scottish] auction [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

I have my own set of what I'd like in the program. A LOOOONG list. I started this on version 1.1x, but without a good means of tying in a revenue system, it died.

From 2000:
http://gossamer-threads.com/...search_engine#113567
http://gossamer-threads.com/...search_engine#114230

From last year:
http://gossamer-threads.com/...search_engine#247839

http://gossamer-threads.com/...search_engine#241050

There were other threads, but I have those marked.

There are a *LOT* of things I don't like about on-line auctions, especially an end time that is not extended when bids are recieved. No other auction format does that.

Also, I wanted something flexible enough to deal with mutliple types of items, and listings, in a reasonable way.

Ebay has always been clunky, and stiffling.

I wanted a way for users to LEGITIMATELY tie their basic products into the auction format. eBay tries to hide this, and block this, to increaes their profits, but it probably also hurts them as well.

Paypal owns ebay so there is a mral in all this somewhere methinks. I believe I know where you are coming from on this. As a lesson and example of excellent web sense the system needs to be opened up, not screwed down to the eyeballs. Amazon did very well by opening up.

Is this kind of your drift?

Yes. More like Amazon, than eBay.

And, some analysts think the Google system will start to erode eBay's dominance significantly by comparing other auctions and shops in Amazon and yahoo, and elsewhere.
