Some bugs, and a few features have been fixed up in this program. The templates are still a "chore" but seem to work, and I'll have the non-image version of them ready. The problem is in how the program works to let a user add/change links in their list. Lots of features, make a program harder to smooth over the edges. It does run, and seems to work, and best of all, it doesn't seem to do any damage. <G> 1) It installs/uninstalls cleanly, leaving behind 1 table and the templates. This is on purpose, and you can delete them manually, but it prevents accidental loss of data during debugging your site. 2) It will import an existing MyFaves sql version, and seems to do so cleanly. 3) It will run, if you follow the instructions, and work on your MFL_Link.html template a bit. 4) It *REQUIRES* a logged in user, since I'll be damned if I allow unauthenticated writes to the database. 5) It pretty much ignores any existing install of MyFaves or MyLinks_DB otherwise, even though it recognizes them during the install. Non-logged in users can see the link to add, and will be prompted to log in. They can also view the list of users links, if you make that "Viewable", but can't do anything else. I have a strong stand on logged in users, and I'm not going to write anything that leaves a door open for unauthorized system access. There is enough of that going around, and if you allow much (any) non-authenticated interaction, you should rethink it. A validated email address, non-webmail (hotmail, msn, etc) can go a long way to discouraging hack attacks. It's still in development, and will be tied into the "wish list" system for the DVD/Books program, and probably other programs we are working on. Support for MyLinks_DB import ws dropped, as I have no real way to test it, and it can be done fairly easily from the SQL Monitor. If you need a MyLinks_DB import, please let me know, and we'll schedule a time for it. If you are comfortable with SQL, we can send you the commands to enter yourself. If there is a large show of hands for the MyLinks_DB import, I can probably automate it, but for one or two, even 10 people, it's probably easier just to issue the SQL commands. The automated import can be quirky, and we usually do a round-about means to make it less quirky, but it's a lot of code, and a bit of time to do.
