Recip Link v2.0 isn't making descriptiont text lowercase

Greetings,
We installed the recip_link pluggin. We performed a test where we set Description_To_Lowercase to "Yes" and then tried to add a link using all uppercase letters for the description text. According to our understanding of the pluggin, this pluggin should have turned this description to lowercase but it didn't. We saw that the text for the description was still all uppercase when we went to validate it. Even after validating, the text appeared in all uppercase
How can this be fixed?
